How the volume discount calculator works
Enter quantity, unit price, the minimum quantity for the discount and the discount percentage.
Formula
Applied price = unit price × (1 − discount%) when quantity is at or above the threshold, otherwise the unit price. Total = quantity × applied price.
Worked example
Example: 1,200 pieces at 5.00 with 8% off from 1,000 pieces gives a price of 4.60 and a total of 5,520.

How do tiered prices work?
Many factories quote lower unit prices at higher quantities. State each tier clearly on the quote and invoice so the price matches the agreed quantity.
